He makes an interesting point here. I don't think it's the point he meant to make, though. See, people have honestly seen, and identified, two different Christianities. The Christianity that is comfortable, the Christianity that is safe, and the Christianity that isn't worried about sin, or salvation, or judgement. The other Christianity is the Christianity of nutcases, fruitcakes, and the like, that warn of hell, preach to people, and tell them about sin. You know who has done this to those of us who embrace doctrine? The Church itself.

This SHOULD worry us. Yes, I did mess up my life - but... everyone does, in one way or another. It took the consequences of my decisions, running from God, to bring me to the point of repentance, and a return to God. The experiences hurt, but they were what formed the crucible by which I was "redeemed, but as through fire".
