Indication #1 that we're not dealing with a Biblically sound person. Reading that, I'm in no way ashamed to say, made me mad. Good, rip-roaring, righteously angry. Not only is it a basic principle of Jesus' teachings, it's also a red flag which says "FALSE TEACHER".

Remember what Paul said about those who teach a gospel contrary to that which in in the Bible: "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!" - Galatians 1:8-9

Also, he says, in another epistle:

"I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness; but indeed you are bearing with me. For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully." - 2 Corinthians 11:1-4

There are many more - Such as Titus 1:9: "holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict." - speaking of church elders, and their requirements. I'm no elder - but someone who is an elder is someone to look up to. So, that's what I'm going to do. You'll see, as we go on.
