He has a point. Noone, with absence of action, can be said to have demonstrated "principle". However, prior to this debate, I had argued, quite consistently, against the "slide into the gutter" of Jumpgate. I'd fought against it - in the game, and out of it, on the forums. I'd spoken out about it, debated its effects, its symptoms, and its basis. Sure, that's only talk, but the medium we're limited to doesn't allow much more than that.
So, as you'll see later, I turned that around on him. If, on a text-only medium, the way you frame your ideas can be considered action - how do yours constitute "correct"? He never once answered that, and I'm certain we can guess why. I'm no "great one in spiritual things" - but I know quite well how much work I do at, and for, my church. He did too, because he'd been reading my blog for a long time. So, really, his argument was not only crap - it was self-defeating, as it merely pointed out that he never, ever, has given even a shred of evidence, besides this series of posts, that he has even a single thing to do with Christ, or His Church.
People will usually hang themselves, if you give them enough rope. I had no inkling he'd indemnify himself to this degree - but if you apply his standards to his own conduct... it's interesting. I challenge you to find a single instance where he shares about what he does in, and for, his faith.
You won't find it. I want to point out, and make something VERY clear, though. This is not a pissing match, to see who is the "best Christian". That is NOT why I bring this up. I bring it up to demonstrate why, and in what ways, people will attack Christianity from a bubble of smug self-importance, and a feeling of superiority - with no conception of how badly they, themselves, are making the body look by their continual pointing at themselves - as they act directly contrary to the principles of the Lord. It is disgraceful.
