"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?" - Romans 6:1-2

Obviously, he's being facetious - and making a dig at grace, as a concept. However, remember that we will all be faced with our own sins at judgement, whether committed in, or out of, the faith. We will be rewarded according to how we walked with the Lord. Someone who waits until the very last will have virtually no reward, whatsoever - escaping by the skin of their teeth - if they escape at all. This also discounts the possibility of sudden death, which would nullify any "deathbed confessions". It's an intellectually dishonest concept.
