I just put a poll up on my main site, because I’m curious as to what the answers would be.
I’d like you to do me a favor, and disseminate this poll, so I can get a good cross-section.
The question is: “What is the target of your apologetics?”
Update:
Fixed the link, and the poll..
Click this link to visit, and vote. Thanks!
P.S. - Here’s an interesting quote.
Basically, apologetics is equivalent to theology in sneakers. It means getting the hay down off the loft and down to where the cows can eat it. Anyone can ‘do’ apologetics. All it takes is a willingness, a little work, and the Spirit of God in you.

OK, am I dumb or is the poll thing broken?
Nevermind, the first question, just answer the second…

Hi RK,
Can’t get the poll to work. I’d be the 4 bottom options really - I’d click on non-believers.

I’ve always had a two-fold purpose in my apologetic: Equipping God’s People; Engaging the Culture. Both of these can be accomplish in various ways at the same time. One of them being seminars/mini-conference on apologetic related issues. But, one has to have the desire/drive to get the word out to as man people (media, etc…) as possible. More on this later…!

Getting the hay down to where the cows can eat it? What a strikingly offensive metaphor (unless I’m just misinterpreting it).

Unless you’re a farmer. Cows are extremely grounded animals. They can’t jump.
If you keep their food “out of reach” - they will never, ever reach it. Not in a million years. If you are obligated to care for them, you are obligated to put their necessary nourishment somewhere they can get to it. Otherwise… they will never get it. Ever.
Remember… we’re agrarian ignoramuses from the flyover red states! We have to use pithy farm stories to get our point across!
(Yes, Virginia.. I was being sarcastic. I also have no idea why he used that metaphor. It’s apt, but a bit… odd? But, also remember that Jesus told people not to cast their pearls before swine. Which is an even more offensive metaphor - especially in the context of culture.)

I dont’ know why I can’t get the poll to work for me. All I see are the results.
