Are we sure it’s never moral to lie?
I think of my interactions with my wife. She just got a hair cut, and asks if I like it. If I don’t, it seems the moral high ground to tell her that I do.
What if there is a competing moral requirement? What if I’m hiding Jews is Nazi Germany and am asked if I know where these Jews are hiding?
