Breaking out of the Evangelical Ghetto
Posted by RazorsKissJan 10
Joe Carter, from Evangelical Outpost is starting a new deal – “The Evangelical Directory” – the intent is to get all of the Evangelical blogs all networked together. Good idea (although I don’t see how this isn’t another Evangelical Aggregator… maybe he has another idea for it.), and I signed up. By the by – if you haven’t read Joe Carter at EO – do so 😀

That’s a good question. The aggregator simply allows you to see the latest posts issued by the members. It doesn’t allow anyone who doesn’t use the aggregator, though, to see what blogs are included. Also, it has no affect on blog rankings since you don’t get a “link” from it. By garnering links, a blog moves up the ranking indexes and helps them gain the attention of bloggers who may not have ever noticed them before. For every blog that uses the “directory, you will get one “link” helping you to move up the scale.

Makes sense. However, when someone does have that same aggregator (listed on their site), their link to your site DOES show up on TTLB, afaik.
But.. I may be wrong.
Regardless, it’s cool 😀
